Get to Know Prosecco Rosé

When it comes to our favorite pink Prosecco…the more you know, the more you love.

Nothing says la dolce vita quite like Prosecco Rosé; but do you know what makes it so special? Claudia Manetta, Export Manager for La Marca Prosecco, spends a lovely afternoon discussing Rosé’s Italian roots, the delicious flavor, and how to enjoy it the Italian way. Cin cin!

BORN IN VENETO, ITALY
La Marca Prosecco Rosé was released in 2020, after the Consortium for the Protection of Prosecco D.O.C. concluded a study about how the liquid could be created. The results? The ideal blend is crafted with 10-15% Pinot Noir grape, lending the light and floral taste of the traditional Glera grape a structured, bold flavor.

FULL, FRESH FLAVOR

Your glass of sparkling pink wine is rich with hints of red fruits like cherries, raspberries, and blueberries. The floral notes and fresh flavor of Prosecco, delicately married to the complex profile of Pinot Noir, give Rosé its well-rounded taste.

ENJOY ROSÉ LIKE AN ITALIAN

Claudia says she enjoys Rosé outside as much as possible—especially on one of Italy’s sunny summer days. She also recommends several food pairings to enhance your enjoyment of the sparkling wine, including:

•  Salmon and avocado salad, with salt, pepper, and olive oil. These foods, which are full of healthy fat, pair well with the palate-cleansing properties of sparkling wines.
•  Soft, spreadable cheeses like burrata, served with fresh bread.
•  Fruits like watermelon, cherries, and blueberries.

Prosecco Rosé also transitions perfectly from summer to fall. As the days get crisper, pair your Rosé with autumn-inspired favorites like an apple and goat cheese salad, warm baked brie, butternut squash soup, or hearty roasted vegetables.

However, Claudia says, the choices are endless; both Prosecco and Prosecco Rosé are versatile enough to pair effortlessly with any plate.

CIN, CIN!
