THE CLASSIC MIMOSA
Effortlessly elegant, the classic mimosa is a timeless brunch staple. Made with citrusy orange juice and the lively effervescence of Prosecco, this simple yet sophisticated cocktail is perfect for any occasion. Want to know how to make the best mimosa? This easy recipe keeps it simple with just two ingredients for a perfectly balanced sip.
Ingredients:
• 3 oz. chilled La Marca Prosecco
• 1 ½ oz. fresh orange juice (about a 2:1 ratio of Prosecco to juice)
• Optional: Orange twist, berry, or fresh greenery for garnish
• Twist on a classic: Orange juice ice rounds
Why use Prosecco in a mimosa?
Prosecco is light, crisp, and fruit-forward, with notes of citrus, pear, and apple that complement the bright acidity of fresh orange juice. Unlike Champagne, which tends to be drier and toastier, Prosecco’s softer bubbles and fresh, fruity profile create a smoother, more refreshing mimosa. Its slightly sweeter nature also balances the tartness of orange juice, making for a more enjoyable cocktail.
To make:
Chill your ingredients before serving for the best taste. For a fun twist on a classic, make ice rounds from orange juice to keep your mimosa cold without diluting it. To make the ice rounds, fill a round ice mold with fresh orange juice and freeze until solid (approximately 4-6 hours). Once frozen, place the ice rounds in your Prosecco glass before adding any other ingredients.
Pour the Prosecco into a flute glass first to preserve its bubbles, then slowly add the orange juice. Let the liquids naturally mix without stirring to preserve the bubbles. If desired, garnish with an orange twist, berry, or fresh greenery.
Pro Tip: Some are team “just a drop of orange juice,” and others stand by a 50/50 ratio. Either way, you can’t go wrong—find your perfect balance!
