VENETIAN SPRITZ
Enjoy the taste of Venice.
Ingredients:
• 2 parts Select Aperitivo
• 1 part club soda
• olive for garnish
• 3 parts La Marca Prosecco
To make:
Combine La Marca Prosecco, Select Aperitivo, and club soda in large ice-filled wine glass. Stir gently. Garnish with olive.
About the Recipe
This Venetian staple is thought to have originated in the 19th century when Austro-Hungarian Empire soldiers occupied the region. Unaccustomed to the bold wines from the Veneto’s warm climate, they diluted them by adding a bit of water. They called these drinks spritzes, derived from the German word spritzen, meaning “to spray”.
